Our School Values are: Kindness – Spirit - Responsibility
The School:
Nationally celebrated, More House School provides an exceptional, mainstream education for intelligent boys with Specific Learning Difficulties and weakness in their developmental language skills. Providing a transformative education repeatedly recognised as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted over more than a decade, we offer a specialised learning environment for day and boarding boys from Year 4 to Year 13. Our pupils are taught to recognise their strengths and develop their self-belief so that they achieve independence and extraordinary results at GCSE, BTEC and ‘A’ Level, above the national averages. A majority progress to university.
About the department:
More House is lucky to have an experienced department working within custom-built workshop spaces suitable for metal, timber and plastics. We also have a dedicated computer suite with access to several CAD programs (Revit, TinkerCAD, 2D Design and Solid Works) for laser cutting and 3D printing applications. The department has a strong history and focus on traditional making skills with students having workshop access from year 4. This allows our pupils to have complete confidence in making and strong understanding of manufacturing processes. We are a strong and supportive team with a range of backgrounds and experiences, working alongside a full-time dedicated technician. There are lots of opportunities to develop skills and knowledge, both internally and through external courses. We would highly encourage any potential candidate to request a visit prior to application.
