We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic and experienced individual to join our school as Admissions Registrar. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within a school or a demanding customer service environment, and will possess excellent interpersonal, organisational and administrative skills.

As the first point of contact for prospective parents, you must represent the school in a manner that best reflects the unique strengths and ethos of the school. To do this you will possess excellent communication skills and be warm, personable, understanding, courteous, and well-presented.

The highest written communication skills are required, as you will be responsible for writing with clarity and accuracy. You must also have an excellent telephone manner and be organised and efficient. You will be a great team player, who is calm, resilient and reliable and keen to be involved in school life. Effective time management and strong proficiency in Office software and data management systems (ideally, ISAMS and METIS) are desirable.

Customer service is at the forefront, and you will play a vital role in maintaining a smooth and seamless journey for prospective families into our school.

The role is full time working Monday to Friday with some flexibility required for events that fall outside these hours. Full details of our staff benefits and recruitment procedures, including an application form, can be found on our School recruitment page at http://st-hughs.co.uk/Staff-Vacancies

We are situated on a beautiful green campus of 65 acres in the South Oxfordshire countryside, only 25 minutes from Central Oxford. In June 2025, the Headmaster and Governors announced that St Hugh’s would be opening a Senior School in September 2026. It is a very exciting time to be joining St Hugh’s.

To apply, please send a fully completed application form to [email protected]. This should include a supporting statement outlining the extent to which you meet our requirements as set out in the job description and person specification together with two referees, one of which should be a current or most recent employer. References may be taken up before interview. Online social media checks will be completed on shortlisted candidates prior to interview as part of the KCSIE guidance.

Applications will be considered on receipt and should arrive no later than 10.00am on Monday 1st June 2026. We reserve the right to interview at any point during the recruitment process so early applications are encouraged.

The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and all appointments are subject to a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (including a check against the Children’s Barred List), and other pre-employment screening including a check on the Secretary of State list of prohibited staff.
