Head of Computer Science required from January 2026 to lead ICT teaching across our school in a beautiful countryside location.
Holme Grange is a successful, traditional yet innovative Independent School with a real soul. We aim to stimulate intellectual curiosity and encourage pupils to embrace challenge. We have high expectations, for ourselves and our pupils. Pastoral care is the responsibility of every member of staff and is one of the many strengths of the School.
Holme Grange is a co-educational school for pupils aged 2-16 and currently operates a four-form entry from Years 7-11. We have forward-thinking staff, and we are looking for someone to join us who is willing to contribute ideas and enthusiasm, to motivate and inspire, and to strive to provide the finest education, care and opportunity for our pupils.
Our GCSE results are excellent, with 59% of grades at 9-7 and a 96% pass rate in summer 2025.
Holme Grange has seen considerable investment in Information Technology in recent years. ICT is taught as a discrete subject throughout the school from the age of 3 with further use made of ICT resources by teachers in other subject lessons. We are seeking an excellent Head of Computer Science to deliver outstanding lessons across the school and lead colleagues across the school who teach ICT.
We are a well-resourced school. Pupils have access to a 40 workstation ICT Suite, multiple trolleys of iPads and over 300 Chromebooks. All classrooms are equipped with an Interactive Whiteboard plus projector connected to a laptop or a Desktop PC.
The school uses SharePoint plus a range of media to communicate & market the school as well as to teach pupils. Pupils in the senior school work with 1:1 devices and we use Microsoft as the vehicle for doing so. We are also lucky to have some 3D printers. The school’s MIS is Engage alongside other staff systems.
The successful applicant will be an exemplary practitioner with excellent interpersonal and team working skills. If you are dedicated and energetic, we offer a delightful working environment which is well-resourced. Professional development opportunities are available and encouraged. The skills and knowledge to teach Computer Science to GCSE are a requirement.
A willingness to play a full part in the extra-curricular and pastoral life of our happy and vibrant school is essential. Holme Grange has its own salary scale.
Holme Grange is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Applicants for all jobs will undergo appropriate child-protection screening including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to enhanced level.
