Lunchtime & After-School Club Assistant (Full-Time, 51 Weeks)

Hours: 11:00am – 6:00pm, Monday to Friday

Location: Auckland College Independent School, South Liverpool

Job Summary

We are looking for a caring and proactive Lunchtime & After-School Club Assistant to join our team. This dual-role position plays a vital part in both the smooth running of our lunchtime provision and our wrap-around care service in the afternoons. You will support pupils aged 3–11 through lunchtime supervision and afternoon homework, play, and enrichment activities.

Key Responsibilities

Lunchtime Supervision (11:00am–2:20pm):

Supervise children during lunchtime in both the dining hall and play areas.

Encourage positive behaviour and good table manners.

Ensure children are safe, engaged, and supported in their social interactions.

Assist with minor first aid and report incidents as required.

Set up and clear away lunchtime areas as needed.

After-School Provision (2:50pm–6:00pm):

Supervise and engage pupils in a variety of after-school activities including play, creative tasks, and physical games.

Support children during designated homework time, offering one-to-one or small group help where appropriate.

Foster a safe, inclusive and stimulating environment that encourages creativity, cooperation, and enjoyment.

Maintain accurate records of attendance and incidents.

Work collaboratively with teaching staff and parents to support children's development and behaviour.

Support the wider school community by participating in events or activities as needed.

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

Proven experience working with children aged 3–11 years in an educational or childcare setting.

Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to engage children positively.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and pupils.

A caring, enthusiastic and proactive approach to supporting children’s development.

Desirable:

A Level 2/3 qualification in Education, Childcare or related field.

Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection protocols.

Understanding of additional needs and inclusive practice.

Contract Details

Hours: 11:00am–6:00pm, Monday to Friday

Contract: Full-time, 51 weeks per year (includes holiday entitlement)

Location: On-site at Auckland College Independent School, South Liverpool
