Role Description: Early Years Educator
Auckland College is looking for a caring and enthusiastic Early Years Educator to join our vibrant Lower School team. This role involves providing high-quality care and early education for children aged 3–5, supporting their learning, development, and well-being in a nurturing and values-led environment.
Qualifications
- Level 3 Early Years Educator or equivalent
- Eligibility to work in the UK
Experience
- Experience working with pupils aged 3–5 in a early years setting.
- Ability to effectively engage, support, and manage young learners
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and promote children’s early education and development in the EYFS.
- Make accurate and productive use of assessment for children in the EYFS.
- Work in partnership with the Headteacher, Assistant Headteacher, staff, parents, and professionals where applicable to support children’s development.
- Promoting children’s development
- Plan a range of activities for children in accordance with their different stages of development and individual needs.
- Use the expected patterns of children’s development to promote their early education and development.
- Use knowledge of the early education curriculum, systematic synthetic phonics and other suitable teaching strategies to teach reading, early literacy and maths.
- Accurately identify the needs, interests and stages of development of individual children.
- Promote diversity, equality and inclusion, accounting for cultural differences and family circumstances in activities.
Administration and Compliance
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessment, and behaviour
- Ensure full compliance with school policies and safeguarding procedures
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Good classroom management and relationship-building skills
- Well-organised with attention to detail
- Creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching
- Sound understanding of child development and Early Years Outcomes
