Post of Computer Science Teacher (and Economics)
Start date: January 2025
There is an opportunity to join a thriving successful independent school in January 2025. In recent years the school has been awarded Independent School of the Year, Best Independent School in the North West and Centre of Excellence for Holistic Education, amongst others. The school is looking for a highly motivated Classroom Practitioner who can contribute to the continuing development of the school. The successful candidate will ideally be able to teach across the Year 3 to Year 11 age range. The average class size is twelve. They will have a genuine love for children and be able to communicate this warmth in their relationship with pupils and colleagues and participate in the full school life.
The school currently teaches the AQA GCSE Computer Science and Economics syllabus.
The successful candidate will need to be in sympathy with the aims and ethos of the school. This means actively prompting an inclusive and multiracial community which has respect for individuals at its heart. An ability to relate well to parents and develop good working relationships is important. The school relies on positive discipline and a very practical approach towards teaching and creating a good work ethic is required.
The children in the school come from diverse backgrounds and understanding individual needs is a vital part of our work. The ability to organise and plan is valuable, but what is more important is to be able to adapt and accommodate changes in circumstances without losing a sense of purpose.
Applications should include a completed form and letter of application. Please state clearly if application is for full or part time. The names and addresses of two referees should also be provided. Referees will be contacted prior to interview.
The school and all its staff are committed to safeguarding the welfare of children. At the interview the candidate will be expected to produce:
1. Evidence of qualifications
2. Evidence of teacher status
3. Photographic evidence of identity
4. Second form of identity
5. Valid DBS if applicable
