King's High School is seeking to appoint an outstanding and innovative Deputy Head (Academic) to support in leading King's High School.
Our current Deputy Head (Academic), has been appointed to be the next Head of King’s High School. We are therefore seeking to appoint an outstanding Deputy Head (Academic) from September 2027. The Deputy Head (Academic) has overall responsibility for the academic life of the school, and the academic standards in the school, promoting excellence amongst pupils and staff. The key areas of responsibility and duties attached to this position are set out in the job description held in the applicant information pack. However the list is not exhaustive, and the Deputy Head (Academic) may be expected to assume additional responsibilities as reasonable requested by the Head.
The key personal attributes the successful candidate will embody includes integrity, kindness, patience, creative thinking, communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to listen and build skills and capacity in others. The role will ideally suit an experienced middle or senior leader who can demonstrate outstanding academic credentials, alignment with the values of King's High School, a commitment to pupil flourishing, and a proven ability to lead and inspire both staff and pupils.
