The Primary (Key Stage 2) and Key Stage 3 Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging, and inclusive teaching, with a primary focus on Key Stage 2, while also supporting learning across Key Stage 3 where required.

The Primary (Key Stage 2) and Key Stage 3 Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging, and inclusive teaching, with a primary focus on Key Stage 2, while also supporting learning across Key Stage 3 where required.

The role ensures that all pupils achieve strong academic outcomes, while developing confidence, curiosity, resilience, and a lifelong love of learning.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Learning (Primary Focus)

· Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging, and differentiated lessons with a primary focus on Key Stage 2, alongside teaching across Key Stage 3 where appropriate.

· Adapt teaching to meet the diverse needs, abilities, and learning styles of all pupils.

· Set consistently high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and achievement.

· Use a wide range of evidence-based teaching strategies to promote challenge, independence, and progress.

· Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating primary learning environment that supports all learners.

Curriculum and Assessment (Primary-Led Delivery)

· Deliver a broad, balanced, and progressive curriculum, with a primary emphasis on Key Stage 2, ensuring smooth transition into Key Stage 3.

· Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress using robust and consistent assessment practices.

· Use data and assessment insights to inform planning, targeted interventions, and personalised learning pathways.

· Provide clear, constructive, and timely feedback to support pupil progress and attainment.

· Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the primary curriculum.

Pupil Progress, Pastoral Care, and Wellbeing

· Support pupils’ academic achievement and personal development, with a strong focus on primary-age learners.

· Act as a form tutor or pastoral lead, promoting a culture of care and accountability.

· Build positive, respectful, and trusting relationships with pupils.

· Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and resilience in line with school policy.

Safeguarding and Welfare

Qualifications and Training

· Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

· Evidence of continuous professional development, particularly in primary education.

· Strong ability to plan and deliver engaging, inclusive primary lessons.

· Excellent classroom management and relationship-building skills.

· Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and pupil success.

· Safeguarding and child protection training.

· Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available).

Experience

· Experience teaching pupils in Key Stage 2 (Primary) (Essential)

· Experience teaching or supporting Key Stage 3 (Desirable)

· Experience adapting teaching to meet a wide range of learning needs (Essential)

· Experience in small-group, personalised, or intervention-based learning (Desirable)

· Experience supporting pupils with additional academic, behavioural, or emotional needs (Desirable)
